When it comes to getting some ideas on how to enhance our Honda and when it comes to the Accord and Civic models we often find ourselves referring to the movies. Like the movie “Fast and the Furious” where their modified engines make them a fast road demon that makes current owners think of souping up their usual stock models we often see them in street racing scenes.

The 2008 Honda Civic hybrid is a new powerful and efficient car model that runs on a 1.3-liter, 8 valve i-VTEC engine. This is a four-cylinder inline matched to a lightweight, high-power electric motor. The electric motor adds power when needed. This is definitely something to drool about. The Civic Hybrid is equipped with CVT, or continuously variable transmission, for smooth shifting (or rather non-shifting), with the comfort of an automatic and performance of a manual transmission.
The Civic Hybrid also features the idle-stop functionality, which shuts off the gas engine when you’re idling. This conserves on gas and helps save the environment, too!

The RSX has a suspension of a MacPherson for it runs in the front rear having an integrated double-wishbone suspension in the rear. This engineering disposition turned off some Honda enthusiasts who had come to appreciate the traditional Honda philosophy of using double-wishbones for both front and rear suspensions. On the long run though, the K-series engine proved to have been a good decision after all with a significant potential for tuning, a trait similar to that of the B-series engines which used to be employed in Integra and certain performance-oriented Civic models. The K-series engine features intelligent VTEC or (i-VTEC), it digitally adjusts valve lift, valve duration and valve timing, giving the 2.0 L engine a much more stable torque curve as well as smooth power transition relative compared to the previous VTEC.

One thing you will notice these days is that leather seat covers have been a growing demand and preference for new and old cars. Normally, when you buy a new Honda, leather seats come with it for free. To some however, it is still best to use the traditional fabric seat covers since the issue of cost and some elements surrounding maintenance and comfort of leather seats is observed.
Leather seats absorb heat and make the car interiors a lot hotter if you think about it. Some people don’t mind but if you are the picky customer, chances are you will consider this before having them installed.

Honda has announced that their full-electric FCX hydrogen vehicle is now on limited release in California since last year. One of the first assembly line made Hydrogen powered cars, it is on the road for customer assessment and testing purposes so they can meet their commitment to fully offer it by 2010. The car is not a hybrid but a full Hydrogen powered electric car that incorporates some of the latest technology in alternative energy. The small footprint of the FCX Clarity makes it stand out being a production grade vehicle, it incorporates all the amenities of a gas powered vehicle. It also incorporates Honda’s proprietary Collision Mitigation Braking System(CMBS) that alerts the driver of potential braking hazards using lights, audible and mechanical alerts (seat belt tugging technology) allowing him to take appropriate action. The safety aspect is also perfect with regards to collision and the fact that the fuel it carries (compressed hydrogen) is highly explosive, with sensors and automatic cut-off valves for fuel and circuit breakers for the electrical power for increased safety.
The car is part of Honda’s approach towards a Hydrogen-Fuel Based society, having been involved in the Home Energy Station project. The system uses natural gas to produce hydrogen to power the home and vehicle thus eliminating the need for power off the grid.
